More Teacher Gifts

Well, I totally case'd this idea from Carrie Gaskin's blog. Artistic Avenger. Her link is on the sidebar, go check her out! Thanks for the great idea Carrie.....I love it. It's like a little stationary container for pens, pencils post-it's etc. This brocade blue and polka dots and paisley DSP caddy is for Ryan's Kindergarten teacher. I included some lined post-it notes, pens and pencils. I even tied a ribbon handle so she can tote it if she wants.
These are some bookmarks I made for a coupld of the TA's that take the afternoon kindergarteners during their lunch. We see them everyday at the playground and they are just a couple of great ladies.
Here is the second caddy I made for Ryan's other teacher-Mrs. McMaster. She teaches them occasionally for gym and music. Usually 1/2 an hour twice a week. Really nice lady too!

So now, I'm officially done teacher gifts and I can concentrate on prepping for my workshop on Thursday night. I've already prepped 10 waterfall cards and need to do 10 more and then also some other little goodies. It's real late now, so I'm hitting the hay. I know for sure, I'll be dragging my butt tomorrow!

Nite.

Teacher Gift-My First Canvas

I started with an 8x10 canvas and inked it first with my creamy caramel craft ink pad, then my close to cocoa craft ink pad and finally a few swipes with my chocolate chip craft ink pad.
I then added a strip of patterned paper from the recollection collection and used my distressing tool to rough up the edges.
I then copied my sons class picture on my printer onto glossy white paper (it's not the greatest but I know she has an actual photo of the class) I then mounted the picture on chocolate chip which I also distressed the edges. I then used my mega and giga scalloped punches with chocolate chip and close to cocoa paper. This is where I wrote the kids names. Of course I needed to add some bling, so the I added some flowers and some rhinestone looking flowers.
Here I added to the bottom chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon with pewter hodgepodge hardware ribbon charms. I attached them with glue dots all the way around to the back. *Just under the charms)
Finally, I used sticky strip all around the edge and attached cranberry crisp stitched ribbon for the hanger.

This is the final product. I think it turned out ok. I really like it! What do you think? What would you do different?

It's late, I've been stamping all day- is this too gawdy?

At first, I loved what I created here. Now after making 17 for a swap with our Stampin' Up! group, I'm not feeling the love anymore. Tell me in your honest opinion, what you think?

This is a set of 12 thank you cards I made for Sue's neice as a present for her baby shower. The left side is the front and the right is the inside part. Then there was the gift bag with everything in it as well as the envolope for the card I made her which you can see in the previous post. Thanks for coming to visit my blog!

G'nite.

A couple of new creations

This is a CD calendar that I saw on someone's blog- I think Amy Celona. I made this for my friends new office. They needed a calendar for the front desk.

These are the scrapbook layouts for our scrap club yesterday. Isn't Ryan cute?!
This is a card I made for my g/f's niece. (Her shower is today) I originally tried to stamp these on the new blossoms chipboard but the color was totally faded out so I ripped them off and stamped it on Whisper White and cut them out. I just love this new Purely Pomegranate color! The top layer is the new River Rock. It was late when I took the picture so it's not very bright. I bling is a new rhinestone brad from SU! It's driving me crazy that the sentiment is crooked, but I don't have the time or patience to fix it. Sorry Lin...... I made more goodies for Lin last night so I will upload those tonight or tomorrow. Need to get cracking and make the 7 layer dip for the shower.

Ciao!

Sorry I haven't posted!

It's been a crazy week! Denise, just so you know, your blog candy was sent on Monday! You should be getting anytime now. Thanks to all who played for blog candy. All your ideas were very inspiring. I'm sure to case!

Well, today was the day to end all days. I did some errands out of town and on my way back got stuck on the freeway for an hour and a half, parked! I was supposed to pick up my son from kindergarten at 11am. Needless to say I didn't make it. There was an RV which literally blew up. I would say I was about 100 yards behind the scene. I was really close but not close enough to get by. When we finally did get by it, the RV was literally non-existant. The whole front end was melted away! It was bloody hot out today too! I called the school to ask if one of the moms would be so kind as to take Ryan to the playground to play while I tried to get there. No problem....until that time came and went. I talked to Ryan on the phone, he was upset of course and refused to go back to this mom's house. He wanted to stay at school until I got there to pick him up. The kids that stay for all day kindergarten are watched by a couple of great ladies who offered to take Ryan with them. They were able to get him mind off me not being there and offered him some lunch. He just said no thank you. While I was parked on the freeway, I was just in tears. I felt so bad for my little boy who was wondering where the heck his mommy was. I finally arrived at 12:05ish. I called for him and he came a running, yelling Mommy! and a great big hug. It broke my heart. I explained to him what happened and he seemed fine but I still wanted to make it up to him so we went to DQ for ice cream. I now remember why I don't buy him ice cream cones It took him 45 mins to eat a small one.

Anyway, to the paper crafts I of course wanted to thank all that were helping me out in such a big way today so I made them each a card and of course because they all work together (except Krista who offered to watch him) so of course they all couldn't have the same card! Here they are, tell me what you think....honestly!

Sorry this one is blurry.....camera was acting up......

Oh and I'm also working on making the kindergarten class their graduation hats.
